Joke 8 - Talking Dog

English Transliteration Hebrew
A guy sees a sign outside a house that says: “Talking Dog for Sale.” ba-khur ro-e she-let mi-khuts le-ba-it o-vo ka-tuv ke-lev me-da-ber lim-khi-ra בחור רואה שלט מחוץ לבית ובו כתוב: "כלב מדבר למכירה."
Intrigued, he walks in. me-su-kran hu nikh-nas pni-ma מסוקרן, הוא נכנס פנימה.
“So, what have you done with your life?” he asks the dog. az ma a-si-ta ba-kha-im shel-kha? hu sha-al et ha-ke-lev. "אז, מה עשית בחיים שלך?" הוא שאל את הכלב.
“I’ve led a very full life,” says the dog. ni-hal-ti kha-im me-le-im me-od, a-mar ha-ke-lev. "ניהלתי חיים מלאים מאוד," אמר הכלב.
“I lived in the Alps rescuing avalanche victims. kha-i-ti ba-alp-im ma-tsil le-khu-dim be-ma-po-lot shla-gim. "חייתי באלפים, מציל לכודים במפולות שלגים.
Then I served my country in the army. a-khar kakh she-ra-ti et ha-me-di-na ba-tsa-va. אחר כך שירתי את המדינה בצבא.
And now I spend my days reading to the residents of a retirement home.” ve-akh-shav a-ni ma-a-vir et ya-may bi-kri-a le-da-yar-im be-veit a-vot. ועכשיו אני מעביר את ימיי בקריאה לדיירים בבית אבות."
The guy is amazed. ha-ba-khur nid-ham. הבחור נדהם.
He asks the dog’s owner, “Why on earth would you want to get rid of an incredible dog like that?” hu sho-el et ha-be-a-lim shel ha-ke-lev, la-ma le-khol ha-ru-khot she-tir-tse le-hi-pa-ter mi-ke-lev mad-him ka-ze? הוא שואל את הבעלים של הכלב "למה לכל הרוחות שתרצה להיפטר מכלב מדהים כזה?"
The owner says, “Because he’s a liar! He never did any of that!” ha-be-a-lim o-mer, ki hu sha-kran! hu me-o-lam lo a-sa shum da-var mi-ze! הבעלים אומר: "כי הוא שקרן! הוא מעולם לא עשה שום דבר מזה!"
